Peer Review and Ethics
All articles in this journal undergo a rigorous peer-review process. Each article is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers using a single-anonymous peer review, where reviewers know the authors' identities, but authors do not know the reviewers' identities.
Submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism before acceptance to maintain research integrity.
Copyright
When an author submits a manuscript for publishing they will need to sign a license agreement with DETSOC to allow us to publish their article. According to this agreement:
- authors of articles published in Journal retain the copyright of their articles.
- authors grant DETSOC a license to publish the article and identify itself as the original publisher.
- authors will retain broad re-use rights to their article content for their future publications.
Appropriate Citations to the Literature
Authors must ensure that their work acknowledges relevant literature appropriately. To maintain academic integrity, articles should:
- Reference key studies and foundational work in the field.
- Provide citations that reflect recent advancements (typically within the last 5–10 years).
- Avoid excessive self-citation and over-reliance on a single source.
- Follow a standard citation format such as IEEE, APA, or Chicago style.
Failure to include appropriate citations may result in the manuscript being returned for revision or rejected.
Funding and Grant Support
To ensure transparency and compliance with international publishing standards, authors must disclose any financial support received for their research. Proper acknowledgment of funding sources helps maintain research integrity and allows readers to assess potential conflicts of interest.
1. How to Acknowledge Funding
Authors should include a Funding Statement in their manuscript, typically in the Acknowledgments section. The statement should specify the funding organization and grant number (if applicable). Below are some examples:
- If the research was funded by a specific organization:
"This research was funded by the National Science Foundation (Grant No. ABC-1234)." - If multiple organizations provided support:
"This study was supported by the European Research Council (Grant No. ERC-5678) and the Ministry of Science and Technology (Project ID: MST-91011)." - If the research did not receive external funding:
"The authors declare that this research received no external funding."
2. Grant Information Requirements
- The full name of the funding organization should be provided.
- If available, the official grant number or project ID should be mentioned.
- If the funding organization has specific acknowledgment requirements, authors should ensure compliance.
3. Importance of Grant Disclosure
- Enhances transparency and research credibility.
- Helps prevent potential conflicts of interest.
- Ensures compliance with Web of Science indexing criteria.
- Facilitates proper recognition of funding agencies that support academic research.
Failure to disclose relevant funding details may result in delays in the review process or revisions before acceptance. Authors should ensure accuracy in their funding statements before submission.
