Authorship and Contributorship

To qualify for authorship, contributors must:

  • Make a significant intellectual contribution to the theoretical development, system or experimental design, prototype development, and/or the analysis and interpretation of data associated with the article.
  • Contribute to drafting the article or reviewing and revising it for intellectual content.
  • Approve the final version of the article as accepted for publication, including references.

Plagiarism and Redundant Publication

Authors submitting their work to DETSOC Transactions on Industry Applications must ensure that:

  • The submission contains original research that has not been published elsewhere.
  • The manuscript is not under consideration by another publication during the peer-review process.

Complaints and Appeals

The following procedure applies to appeals of editorial decisions, complaints about publication processes (e.g., delays in review), and concerns related to publication ethics.

  • Appeals against rejection: The Editor-in-Chief or Handling Editor will review the authors’ arguments, peer review reports, and decide whether the rejection should stand, an additional opinion is needed, or the appeal should be considered. The final decision will be communicated to the complainant with an explanation.
  • Complaints about editorial processes: The Editor-in-Chief and/or relevant handling editors will investigate concerns such as review delays and provide feedback to the complainant, with corrective actions taken where necessary.
  • Publication ethics concerns: The journal aligns its ethical practices with COPE Core Practices. The Editor-in-Chief or Handling Editor may seek guidance from the publisher or ethical committees for complex cases. If a resolution is not satisfactory, the complainant may escalate the matter to COPE for further review.

Human and Animal Research Disclosure

Authors must disclose whether their research involving human or animal subjects received approval from an appropriate ethics committee. The source of the approval must be cited in the manuscript.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, professional, or personal conflicts of interest that could influence their research.

Data Sharing and Reproducibility

Our policies on data sharing and reproducibility adhere to internationally recognized ethical guidelines to ensure transparency and integrity in academic publishing.

  • Data Availability: Authors are encouraged to deposit datasets, methodologies, and analysis codes in publicly accessible repositories and provide links within the manuscript.
  • Exceptions: If data cannot be shared due to privacy concerns or proprietary restrictions, authors must provide a justification.
  • Reproducibility: Authors must describe their experimental design, data collection, and analysis methods in sufficient detail to allow replication of the study.
  • Use of Open-Source Tools: The journal encourages the use of open-source software for transparency and reproducibility.
  • Supplementary Materials: Authors should submit supplementary datasets, analysis scripts, and protocols where applicable to support reproducibility.
  • Failure to Share Data: If necessary data or methods are not provided for reproducibility, the journal reserves the right to delay publication or reject the manuscript.

Post-Publication Discussions and Corrections

  • The publishing platform EDAS facilitates post-publication discussions and corrections without direct individual contact.
  • Professional editing services, including citation validation, are applied to all accepted manuscripts.
  • Reviewers are encouraged to assess the validity of data, findings, and the overall quality of the research presentation.

This journal aligns with internationally recognized best practices, including COPE Core Practices, to uphold the highest ethical standards in scholarly publishing.
